All M20** firmwares are single-hardware only. This means that they are tied to a specific device (unique serial number and unique CRUM).

1. So, to flash the printer firmware you need

a) printer model - data on the case;
b) serial number - 15 characters - indicated in the Configuration report;
c) firmware version - indicated in the Configuration report;
d) CRUM - (11 characters), indicated in the Supplies Information report;

Therefore, you will have to print two reports: Configuration and Supplies Information. Consumables).

2. Print Configuration

Turn on the printer. On the front panel of the device, press the “Print Screen” (or “WPS”) button. The indicator will blink several times. And after a few seconds it will start flashing again. Release the button and the report will print.

Preparing for firmware.

Turn on the printer connected to the computer with a USB cable and install the necessary drivers. The cable should be as short as possible. All unnecessary equipment from the computer must be disconnected, and all programs must be closed. Make sure the connection is secure. Important!!! An interruption in power supply during firmware will result in device failure.

3. Order firmware

On the website, on the "Order firmware" page, fill in the required fields of the order form obtained from data reports. Click the "Submit" button.

4. PRINTER FIRMWARE

Unzip the resulting file into a separate folder.
- turn off the printer;
- press and hold the "Print screen" button
- press the power button and hold both until the readiness indicator changes color;
- release the buttons
- drag the file FIX_NU_XXXXXXXXXX_M20**_V**.hd to usbprns2.exe.
- wait until the device is flashed (this may take several minutes)
- that’s all, the firmware is finished

After you have successfully flashed the device, remove the chip from the cartridge (seal with tape) and save it (the chip is the key). The device must work without a chip.

IMPORTANT!!! In all subsequent cartridges that you intend to use in the printer, the chip must be removed. If you insert a new chip cartridge by mistake, the device will be blocked.

After flashing the firmware, you will be able to refill the MLT-D111S cartridge from this printer multiple times. There is no need to change the chips, because the printer will work without a chip.

How to flash a Samsung Xpress printer

Samsung Xpress is the latest series of printers from this manufacturer, which was released in 2016. In the manufacturing process of printers in this series, innovative technologies and modernized equipment were used. However, despite all the advantages of these devices, any user may need to update the firmware for a printer in this series.

Flashing a printer firmware is not a very complicated matter, but the manufacturers of this equipment recommend that you do not carry out this procedure yourself, but contact Samsung printer service centers, which employ qualified craftsmen.

How to flash a Samsung Xpress m2020, m2070, m2070w printer at home

1. Find out the serial number of the printing device.

You will find this information on the back cover of the printer. This data is also in the report: on the control panel, press the Menu button and use the arrow > left to find System Setup, click Ok. Use the > left button to find the report. Next, confirm the selection Ok and use the left button > find the configuration or information about consumables (Configuration or Supplies Info). By clicking Ok, you will print the report you need.

2. The next thing to do is determine the current firmware version. We can do this by printing a machine configuration report. The line you will need will be called “Firmware version”.

3. Go to the manufacturer’s website and select “Support”. In this section you will find an updated version of the firmware program. Attention: at this stage of work you need to be extremely vigilant and beware of virus applications. When you find the program you need, you need to download it, and then unzip the folder.

4. Double-click the mouse to open the startup file for changing the serial number Change Serial Number (SN). In this program, you need to enter the serial number of your printer.

5. When all the data has been successfully updated, click the “Ok” button, then close the application and reboot the printing device.

7. If the changes were successful, we return to the archive again and take the firmware file in it latest version and move it to usbprns2.exe by dragging it. After this procedure, you will see a window in which the process of re-flashing the printer will be displayed. It is important not to use the printer or perform any manipulations with it during the update period.

8. After rebooting the device in order to final confirm the firmware, we will need to output the configuration report again.

It is necessary to take into account that you need to ask the printer or MFP again with the original chip in the cartridge with a toner level of at least zero.
