The car in our family appeared for quite a long time. The first time we bought a Moskvich 21040 back in 1988. Then it was a big deficit and then the car cost 6,000 rubles, which was a lot of money. In those early years, an old used car cost more than a new one. Such were the times. The Muscovite was unpretentious and ate gasoline with octane 76 and AI-80. In those years, gasoline was sold at old state-owned gas stations, but it was always of good quality, because it was state-owned.
Later, a Niva was purchased to replace the Moskvich, and soon a used Nissan Terana 2. They made plans to acquire the Passat, but remembering that the Passat was the Nissan that turned the corner, they abandoned this idea.
